First Post . . . Let’s Get Started

 

 

I’d like to welcome everyone to my blog and give a brief overview of what this blog is all about.

 

Every one of us would like to become more fit. Some of us would like to lose weight, others would like to build muscle, and even more would like to do both. So how do we do this?

 

With diet and exercise? Of course! Everyone knows that! But that doesn’t really help us, does it? If everyone knows how to get fit then why is it so few actually do? Maybe it’s just because we really are lazy slobs after all. Well, if that’s the case we might as well just call it quits right here and now. But I don’t believe that.

 

So what is the reason?

 

The truth of the matter is its damn tough to get into shape – simple as that. I wish I had a better answer, but the truth is the truth.

 

Fortunately, there is one redeeming fact of a hard truth . . . once we accept it for what it is it ceases to act as a barrier and instead becomes a springboard. So what if it’s tough. So what if the challenge seems too great. So what if we are afraid. The truth remains – it is hard, nothing can change that. Set your goals and give it your best. If you set the right goals, even falling short will leave you coming out ahead.

 

That’s it for my introduction. This blog is a work in progress, but I promise that in the coming months I’ll be adding much more content, better pictures, and eventually video (when I figure this whole digital media thing out).

 

Thank you for reading my first ever blog post. In my next post I will go a little deeper into the philosophy behind this blog, and maybe I’ll introduce myself a bit as well.

  1. So… in my quest to see what you’ve done, or rather, where you started, I did a little search and managed to find your first blog. Yeah! As you are very organised (sorry, my Canadian is showing), I have to run around a bit but that’s cool… Challenge is a good thing. You said so!

    • Alright! Finally a comment on my first post! I didn’t think it would ever happen. My guess is that outside of yourself, only a few close friends even read that post (and probably the next 20 or so as well). And as you’ve discovered Dale, organization is not a strong point for me. I’ve been meaning to get one of those archive pages up on my site, but just been too lazy. Maybe it’s time to finally get at it . . .

    • Hi Alisha, glad to hear you’ve been enjoying the blog for a while. You’ve set yourself quite the goal — I’ve written 109 posts. Many of them quite long. But I wish you luck.
